Polestar Communications Inc. is a Burnaby-based communications consulting firm with extensive experience in writing and editing for adult and youth audiences on many topics, as well as in communications planning, project and event management, and marketing.
Polestar Communications Inc. is a company registered under the Companies Act of British Columbia. Our head office is located in Burnaby, B.C., and we have a staff office in Vancouver, B.C.
Our three principals collectively hold degrees in creative writing, education, marketing and law.
We've been working with clients across Canada for over 30 years.
Ellen Schwartz is a professional writer with a background in teaching both adults and children. She holds a Master’s degree in creative writing and a B.S. in special education. In addition to writing 16 award-winning children’s books, she is the author of numerous corporate publications and magazine articles. She handles writing and editing duties for Polestar projects, including both business and technical writing.
Richard Banner holds degrees in law and political science/philosophy. He has extensive experience in writing and editing technical, educational and public information materials ranging from corporate reports to training and public information materials. In addition to acting as a business and technical writer, he provides editing and proofreading services. For 16 years, he acted as a writer and editor on a Vancouver community magazine.
Bill Schwartz has degrees in business administration (marketing) and education, and has extensive experience as a program manager and event co-ordinator. He specializes in program and special event management, marketing, research and public consultation. He provides overall project administration for Polestar projects. He recently served as a member of the Federal Department of Finance’s Task Force on Financial Literacy.
